  1. I’ll be graduating soon as a Dental Assistant.

I’m glad I went into the dentistry field. The pay is great.

The skills you learn throughout the course are quite awesome.

And, Medical Assistant don’t make as much as a Dental Assistant.

I guess DA’s get pay more simply because you’re more at risk for

exposure of any soft of illness, and we’re dealing with semi-surgical procedures.

  2. @MrPreds
of course boy can becom a DA! My dentist was DA before he decided to becom a dentist.

  3. Thank you for the info.

  4. @BIGDOM1212 You’re an ass.

  6. THAT HIRL IN THE VIDEO CAN SUCK MY BALLS

  7. @gymboy19 – DAs can make okay money. Specialties include orthodontics (orthodontic assistant) though I’m not sure that there are too many jobs. The Occupational Outlook Handbook has more information. With schooling, please forgo those private overpriced for-profit tech schools and instead consider the more affordable **county vo-tech school or community college** as long as the program is accredited within the industry. The ‘american dental association’ should have more info, too.

  8. @alexandrohau Wow. Nursing is a very respectable occupation by the way and it makes pretty good money.

  17. Yes! I am a Dental Assistant.. in the United States Navy.. it’s awesome.. planning to become either an EFDA/Hygienist.. or probably continue to become a dentist.. :)

  18. I feel persons interested in the field should definitely attend courses to become a real asset to any dental team & the dental field. & YES! BOYS CAN ALSO BE DA’s!
To become a Registered/Certified DA, go through your state’s Dental Board and find out whether you qualify to take the written & practical exam. All certs. must be sent to the Dental Board to perform the duties of the RDA/CDA and the EF’s. i.e. your Coronal Polishing lic., P&F Sealant cert, etc. Hope that helps! SMILE! =D

  19. Check this out:
I’m a DA Instructor in California. In the USA, each state has different regs for the entry-level DA. Research your state’s Dental Board. In the USA YOU DON’T NEED to take a DA course! Although it’s extremely hard to find a dentist that is willing to train someone with ZERO dental knowledge, if you get passed that you’re also limited in the duties normally delegated to a DA. i.e. to take x-rays you must have an x-ray cert. So SOME courses ARE needed to perform all DA functions.

  20. Can a boy becom a dental assistants

  21. ACTUALLY in Canada you have to be licensed. we dont have states here and you have to go to school to actually work as a cda. if you work without a license here its malpractice and you can be sued because you have to go to school to get a license here. so the course in Canada is approx. 10 months-1 year depending on the province.

  22. Actually, you are incorrect as well.
It varies state to state what dentist can delegate to their assistants. So, they may hire someone with no experience and then send them for their RDH and E.F certificate after they have worked under the dentist supervision for a certain amount of time.
You should check it out for yourself.

I agree she did make it sound like it was a piece of cake to become a DA, and it probably got you upset, especially if you and paid a lot to become a CDA.

  23. Great video! We need assistants!
